BilltoMobile launches one-click mobile web transactions
Mobile payments provider BilltoMobile unveiled a new one-click mobile web transaction process enabling consumers to more efficiently make purchases via wireless device.
BilltoMobile's Direct Carrier Billing platform identifies the subscriber's phone number when they make purchases on mobile websites--the one-screen user flow asks the consumer to accept the carrier's Terms of Use via an opt-in check box, then asks them to opt in a second time on the same screen by confirming the amount to be charged to their monthly bill. BilltoMobile leverages its proprietary risk and fraud system to guarantee the security of the purchase.
According to BilltoMobile, the new one-click purchase flow is designed to help mobile web developers monetize their efforts, announcing mobile web entertainment destination MocoSpace as the first partner to roll out the process. Merchants should continue to leverage BilltoMobile's RESTful API and do not need to code to additional APIs.
BilltoMobile boasts direct-to-carrier payment processing agreements with all four major U.S. operators: Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ), AT&T (NYSE:T), Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S) and T-Mobile USA. The firm also serves as a Mobile Payments Gateway for Verizon and Sprint, providing mobile phone authentication and direct billing access to other payment processors and online merchants. BilltoMobile services are now available to over 280 million U.S. consumers in all.
