Bizzy connects with foursquare for location recommendations
ReachLocal-owned local recommendations app Bizzy is integrating with foursquare, enabling consumers to record and share their opinions on the places they visit.
Foursquare users who check in at local restaurants, bars and retail establishments can now leverage Bizzy's Check Out feature, which includes three one-tap ratings options: Love It, Okay and No Thanks. Users may also add a mini-review and photo, sending out their assessment to their friends and followers. The Bizzy app sends alerts or news feed prompts to remind users to check out, collecting all reviews to help remind consumers of their past experiences at specific locations--over time, the app also suggests new destinations and people to follow based on past ratings.
This summer, foursquare topped 10 million users worldwide, with check-ins at local venues surpassing 3 million each day. Questions nevertheless remain about the viability of the mobile check-in model: Earlier this week, Pew Internet & American Life Project data revealed that only 5 percent of all American mobile subscribers and 4 percent of adults use services like foursquare to check in at local destinations.
