BlackBerry Partners Fund launches $100M Chinese venture

The BlackBerry Partners Fund, the $150 million venture capital initiative created in 2008 to invest in mobile applications and services, announced the launch of a new affiliate effort targeting the emerging Chinese mobile ecosystem. A joint venture in association with venture capital and private equity management firm China Broadband Capital Partners, BlackBerry Partners Fund China earmarks $100 million for investment in opportunities surrounding the world's largest mobile subscriber market, with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. The fund is expected to close Aug. 31.
