Bleacher Report expands Team Stream app to iPad

Tools

Sports media site Bleacher Report is entering the tablet segment, rolling out a new high-definition version of its free Team Stream application optimized for Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad.

Team Stream (previously available for iPhone and Android) provides sports fans with handpicked news and analysis from Bleacher Report, Twitter and other digital media sources, complete with push alerts when stories break. Users can customize settings to follow their favorite professional and collegiate teams as well as tweets from preferred sportswriters and athletes. According to Bleacher Report, the extra real estate afforded by the iPad tablet screen allows for the introduction of a personalized homescreen dashboard as well as easier navigation between articles.

Bleacher Report is also introducing an HTML5-based browser experience touting enhanced photo and video content. The publisher says that iPad uses visiting the site will benefit from improved navigation and interaction tools making it easier to read stories, share content and comment on editorial perspectives.

Launched in 2008, Bleacher Report now welcomes more than 22 million unique visitors each month, with an editorial team that encompasses more than 1,000 featured columnists and 6,000 contributors. Bleacher Report editorial content is also syndicated to partners including USA Today, The Los Angeles Times and The San Francisco Chronicle.
