Blockbuster discusses mobile movie future

Tools

Movie rental chain Blockbuster said it is in talks with mobile handset makers to develop new video technologies enabling wireless subscribers to view movies on the move. "We're talking with virtually all of the major manufacturers about the opportunity to provide greater mobility and convenience," said Blockbuster CEO James Keyes during an appearance at this week's Reuters Media Summit in New York City. He added that the company is also in partnership negotiations with several software companies, but declined to name them. According to Keyes, he presently views movies on his BlackBerry and iPhone devices: "The challenge is how do I make this convenient for everybody," he said.
