Blockbuster inks video integration deal with Motorola
Movie rental chain Blockbuster announced an agreement to feature its OnDemand video download service in select Motorola handsets, promising consumers on-the-go access to a digital library spanning thousands of feature films. Per terms of the deal, Motorola will equip selected devices with an exclusive Blockbuster OnDemand application--consumers may rent or purchase titles available for download.
According to Blockbuster, the agreement with Motorola furthers its plans to offer the OnDemand service across multiple platforms including PCs, portable media players, Blu-ray players, personal video recorders and web-connected televisions. The company adds that in the future, OnDemand customers will be able to download video content as well as schedule movies for traditional mail delivery via Blockbuster Online and reserve videos for in-store pickup at local brick-and-mortar stores and Blockbuster Express branded vending machines.
