Buzzd completes Series A funding round

Location-based cityguide and mobile social network provider Buzzd announced the completion of a Series A funding round led by Greycroft Partners and Monitor Ventures. The firm said the unspecified dollar amount is earmarked for product development and distribution. Buzzd delivers location-sensitive entertainment listings, branded editorial and real-time user-generated content to mobile devices--content partners include Helio, Citysearch, Flavorpill and Time Out New York. The company also announced a new advertising partnership with Hornitos Premium enabling Buzzd members to buy their friends Hornitos drinks and redeem SMS codes at hundreds of bars in association with BuyYourFriendADrink.com. Finally, a mobile advertising effort we can all get behind.
