Bytemobile, Opera in Unison

Tools

Content optimization solutions provider Bytemobile announced it will collaborate with browser developer Opera Software on the Unison Web Fidelity Service, a carrier-grade commercial infrastructure solution designed to offer consumers full Internet access via wireless device. Unison will integrate Opera's transcoding technology with Bytemobile's multi-service optimization platform to enable full-HTML web browsing on mobile handsets, adapting Internet content for viewing on small screens.

Bytemobile and Opera said they plan commercial deployment of the Unison solution in June 2007. "People on the go will have ready, convenient access to a full range of websites--news, banking, auctions, blogs, e-mail, photos, social networking, e-commerce," Bytemobile's VP of marketing and business development Adrian Hall said in a prepared statement. "They will be able to enjoy desktop-quality browsing on any handset."
