Bytemobile serves up Widget Bar app

Mobile web solutions provider Bytemobile announced the introduction of Widget Bar, which promises to simplify the mobile browsing experience via providing useful, customized information in real time while eliminating extensive search and navigation. The Widget Bar app, part of Bytemobile's Web Fidelity Suite software offering, enables operators to insert a personalized toolbar on the screen of any mobile device, offering efficient user access to services including local news and weather, enhanced search and social networking. The application may be placed on any portal or off-portal web page delivered to mobile browsers, and offers a direct communication channel to the subscriber, enabling operators to suggest relevant content. In addition, carries may differentiate services based on the individual subscriber's rate plan, age range or other criteria, and can independently control the content and appearance of the Widget Bar according to each user profile.
