CBS debuts full-length Letterman shows on V Cast
Verizon Wireless and CBS Mobile announced the operator's V Cast Video service will begin broadcasting full-length, commercial-free episodes of The Late Show with David Letterman and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. With the late-night chatfests, CBS becomes the first broadcast network to offer full-length on-demand programming via the V Cast Video platform--each episode will be presented as a series of video shorts following their nightly CBS broadcasts, and will remain available to Verizon subscribers until the next evening's episode is added. In addition to the full-length broadcasts, Letterman and Ferguson content will also remain available in V Cast's highlight short video format.
"While we continue to provide short clips of our shows, we're seeing a growing demand for the availability of full length, network quality shows on video on demand mobile video," said Cyriac Roeding, CBS Mobile EVP. "The Late Show with David Letterman and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson have become some of the most demanded shows in mobile and on the Internet, so it only makes sense that we fulfill the consumer request and help grow the popularity of these franchises."
