CBS debuts TV.com application for iPhone

CBS launched a new iPhone application promoting its TV.com website, enabling mobile subscribers to view full-length episodes of series including CSI and Star Trek via the iconic Apple device. According to The New York Times, the free TV.com app appears to be the first mobile application offering consumers a significant volume of mainstream network content available for download via both traditional cellular networks and WiFi, adding that the success of such an application would exert even greater pressure on premium mobile TV services like MobiTV and Qualcomm's MediaFLO USA.
