CBS Mobile launches local news apps for iPhone

CBS Mobile announced the introduction of stand-alone news applications spanning 13 local markets, promising iPhone and iPod touch users headlines, on-demand video, slideshows and Twitter updates from CBS Television Stations anchors and reporters alongside CBS News stories and content spanning the globe. Developed in conjunction with Treemo Labs and Transpera, the branded apps spotlight CBS stations including WCBS in New York City, WBBM in Chicago and KCBS in Los Angeles--alongside news, each includes local geo-targeted weather that automatically targets a user's location.
