CBS Sports debuts official NCAA university apps for iPhone

CBS Interactive's CBSSports.com College Network unit announced the availability of more than 60 new iPhone and iPod touch applications spotlighting perennial NCAA sports powerhouses including Alabama, North Carolina, Kansas, Oklahoma and USC. The official athletic apps promise fans, students and alumni on-the-go access to breaking news and updated scores as well as live streaming audio and on-demand video clips dedicated to a range of collegiate athletic programs including football, basketball, soccer and tennis. Each app (priced at $4.99) also includes complete schedules for each sport by date, time, venue and opponent, including home and away team rosters and bio information for all athletes. CBS Sports adds that future app updates will introduce live video streaming, real-time scoring and play-by-play.
