CBS's TV.com iPhone app tops 1 million downloads

Tools

CBS Interactive announced that two months after introducing a free iPhone application to promote its TV.com website, the app has already crossed the million download milestone. The application--which offers iPhone users access to free, full-length episodes to CBS series including CSI, 60 Minutes and The Rules of Engagement--enables viewers to download video content via both traditional cellular networks and WiFi.

In announcing the millionth app download, CBS Interactive also trumpeted the addition of a new continuous play function, allowing viewers to screen full episodes of programs divided into chapters without clicking from one chapter to the next. CBS Interactive adds that the TV.com app offers new player controls on its video info screen: Viewers can now start an episode at any chapter, or jump ahead via the fast-forward button.
