China sets up$54M mobile TV development fund
Chinese regulators announced the creation of a 400 million yuan ($54 million) government fund to galvanize mobile TV technology development over the next three years. According to China's Ministry of Science and Technology, the funds are earmarked to create domestic mobile TV standards in an effort to sidestep paying platform royalties to foreign firms. The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television will oversee the fund.
