Chinese carriers sign deals with state broadcaster

Wireless operators China Mobile and China Unicom completed agreements with state broadcaster China Central Television to launch mobile TV services. While China Mobile declined further comment, China Unicom said it would be responsible for network equipment, customer service and sales, with CCTV supplying content and broadcasting services. The CCTV deals also enable China Mobile and China Unicom to roll out mobile TV without licensing approval from the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television.
