Citi, Firethorn team for mobile credit services

Tools

Global financial services company Citi and Qualcomm-owned mobile commerce enabler Firethorn Holdings announced the launch of Citi Mobile for Cards, a mobile solution enabling Citi cardholders to access real-time account information via mobile device. Available now to AT&T subscribers as part of the AT&T Mobile Banking service and to Verizon Wireless customers who download the free application on Get It Now, Citi Mobile for Cards promises immediate and secure access to credit card account information including real-time balances, available credit, recent transaction history and rewards programs updates. According to Citi, all mobile transactions are secure with data encryption and are monitored for fraud--no personal information is stored on the phone, and if a handset is lost or stolen, Citi Mobile for Cards can be deactivated instantly. In addition, Citi Mobile for Cards restricts account access to the phone that is registered with the service. PIN authorization is also required.
