Citizen Image snaps up PixPulse user content
Media publishing platform developer PixPulse announced an agreement with user-generated photo brokerage firm Citizen Image to enable users to make their text, image and video content available for purchase by editorial and creative buyers. Per terms of the deal, PixPulse users may upload their images and video of newsworthy events, which Citizen Image will make available for sale to media outlets worldwide--users will in turn receive a share of the profits generated via their content.
"Because no news organization can plan to cover news events they cannot anticipate, increasingly they are embracing 'citizen journalism' content in all its forms--text, images and video." Citizen Image CEO Feargall Kenny said in a prepared statement. "Together with PixPulse, Citizen Image offers news outlets the fastest way to implement citizen journalism initiatives with ease, and provide unprecedented access to a vast pool of content for syndication."
