Citysearch expands mobile app to Android

Tools

Online local guide Citysearch announced the introduction of its Mobile by Citysearch application for Android smartphones, enabling users to browse, search and share information spanning 15 million local business listings as well as post reviews directly from their devices. According to Citysearch--which previously unveiled mobile applications optimized for the iPhone, BlackBerry and Palm webOS systems as well as a mobile website--the Android app uses GPS to identify restaurants, coffeehouses, banks, movie theaters and related listings closest to a consumer's location, complete with directions provided via Google Maps; users can share recommendations with the app using email, SMS or Twitter. Mobile by Citysearch for Android also offers access to user and editorial reviews, editor's picks and featured merchants alongside Tip Calculator and Split the Bill services.
