Clickatell teams with CNN for Olympics alerts

Mobile messaging solutions provider Clickatell announced an agreement with cable news giant CNN to deliver SMS alerts from the Beijing Olympic Games, which begin this weekend. The CNN Beijing 2008 SMS gold medal alert service promises fans real-time SMS updates featuring their country's Olympic medal tally--a hyperlink embedded within the alert will enable one-click access to exclusive blogs from CNN's correspondents in Beijing as well as user blogs, video round-ups of the latest sporting action and an events timetable. Viewers may also upload their own images or video to CNN's user generated service iReport. Users may sign up for the alert service by logging on to the CNN mobile website or transmitting a text message with the two-letter country code of their choice.
