Comcast adds remote DVR features to iPhone app
Service provider giant Comcast announced the addition of remote DVR programming services to its free Comcast Mobile application for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch, enabling users to record their favorite television programs on the go. According to Comcast, the app enables subscribers to create and cancel recordings, search programming guides, view a list of upcoming recordings, switch between multiple DVRs, sort listings by category and use the "Quick Record" feature to set schedules with a single tap. The revamped app also boasts push notification alerts indicating when new voicemail and email arrives, as well as TV show reminders. Existing features of the Comcast Mobile app: Visual voicemail, address book sync, real-time television listings and trailers spotlighting on-demand films.
Comcast adds it plans to expand the mobile application to the BlackBerry platform within the next few months.
