Consumers still prefer voice over mobile apps
While 74 percent of consumers desire more advanced mobile applications, they still prefer voice service as their primary wireless communication channel according to a new survey released by mobile services firm AppTrigger. The study reports that 50 percent of consumers cite voicemail as a feature they use at least once a day, compared to 22 percent of subscribers using mobile email daily. Fifty-seven percent of respondents blamed additional service charges as their reason for not adopting advanced applications. Still, 26 percent said they send text messages several times a day, 12 percent said they surf the mobile web multiple times each day and 8 percent listen to music at various times throughout the day.
