Conveneer wraps up $4.5 million financing round

Mobile content platform provider Conveneer announced the close of a $4.5 million financing round led by Swedish investor Industrifonden and including contributions from early-stage investment firm Broken Arrow Venture Capital. Conveneer's Mikz platform promises real-time access to mobile content via standard Internet protocols, assigning each handset a URL to the mobile phone to enable access via web browser--the firm notes that mobile content may be seamlessly integrated with Internet-based data using standard, open APIs such as RSS and HTML and various web services. Conveneer adds it is presently collaborating with OEMs, operators and various application developers to launch its initial product suite--the company reports that the new funding will support continued development of the Mikz platform, expand its management team and bolster its U.S. sales and marketing staff.
