Cricket expands mobile music efforts with Muve First and Muve Headliner

Leap Wireless (NASDAQ:LEAP)-owned prepaid provider Cricket Communications continues to build out its all-you-can-eat Muve Music service, introducing Muve First and Muve Headliner, two monthly programs promising subscribers access to exclusive content and features.

Muve First will spotlight new and emerging artists, beginning with boy band Mindless Behavior. Cricket promises Muve First will offer exclusive content unavailable across rival digital platforms. Muve Headliner shifts the focus to established acts, beginning with hip-hop icon Lil Wayne (the most downloaded Muve Music artist to date) and veteran rocker Lenny Kravitz, who supplies the exclusive track "Dance Around the Fire."

Muve Music was first announced in late 2010. More than 200,000 Leap customers now subscribe to the service, offered as part of Cricket's $55 flat-rate monthly package, which also includes unlimited nationwide calling as well as unlimited messaging, mobile web access, data backup and video. Earlier this month, Cricket expanded Muve Music to the Android-powered Samsung Vitality, increasing the monthly unlimited price tag to $65 for Vitality users.
