Deloitte snaps up mobile app agency Ubermind
Professional services giant Deloitte has acquired Ubermind, the creative agency behind mobile applications for brands including Target, Amtrak, Alaska Airlines and REI. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to Deloitte, the Ubermind acquisition boosts full lifecycle professional services relating to strategy, creative, mobile, web, e-commerce, content and enterprise mobile enablement. Ubermind brings with it proprietary frameworks and methodologies customized for all segments of the mobile development lifecycle--in addition, CEO Shehryar Khan and founder Donald Brady will join Deloitte Consulting as principals.
In addition to branded applications, Ubermind developed the iLightr virtual lighter application, introduced for Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS in 2008. Ubermind expanded iLightr to Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android in 2010, porting the app to Microsoft's (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows Phone the following year.
