Dex One expands online local search to Android

Marketing services firm Dex One announced its online local search product DexKnows.com is now available as a mobile application optimized for Google's Android platform. Following on the heels of Dex One's iPhone and BlackBerry applications, the Android app promises information on millions of local businesses, enabling consumers to search by business name, type or location. A Quick Links feature unique to the Android app offers users more efficient access to particular types of businesses like bars, hotels and coffee shops by scrolling through a series of images and clicking on a particular photo representative of the vertical in question. The app also boasts "Near Me" search leveraging Android's GPS capabilities, detailed ratings and reviews, movie showtimes, driving directions, people search and reverse number lookup.
