Digby launches m-commerce platform
Mobile commerce service and software platform provider Digby announced the launch of Powered by Digby, a new m-commerce platform promising retailers a branded mobile shopping experience created, produced and managed by the firm. Each branded mobile store comprises a device-resident application including the retailer's best-selling products--the app can integrate with other handset functions including the address book and mapping applications, enabling consumers to purchase products by scrolling and clicking. According to Digby, selling points of the Powered by Digby platform include incremental transaction opportunities predicated on 24/7 shopper access, strengthened customer affinity via mobile offers and promotions, mobile channel innovation and risk reduction--while the mobile storefronts deliver a more streamlined shopping and checkout process to smartphone users, mobile browser access enables retailers to reach any customer with access to the mobile web, regardless of device. Godiva Chocolatier and 1-800-Flowers have already signed on to launch branded storefronts.
