Digital Chocolate, HBO go mob-ile with "Sopranos" game
You woke up this morning, got yourself a game: Mobile applications developer Digital Chocolate announced an agreement with HBO to create a new interactive wireless game based on the premium cable network's award-winning mob drama "The Sopranos." Featuring character likenesses based on principals including Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) and Silvio Dante (Steven Van Zandt), "The Sopranos Bada Bing! Manager" positions players at the helm of the series' signature gentleman's club, the Bada Bing!--in addition to renovating the nightspot, hiring dancers and watering down drinks, players also earn points by avoiding law enforcement and making proper cash tributes to the captains of their crime family.
"The Sopranos Bada Bing! Manager" will launch on Cingular's HBO Mobile channel later this month. "Working with Digital Chocolate enables HBO to continue to deliver popular show-branded games to a medium where our fans can easily access them - their cell phones," said HBO Interactive Entertainment VP Patricia Wagstaff in a prepared statement. "It's important that the HBO consumer have the best possible experience with any of its properties, no matter what the medium."
