Digital Chocolate scores $12 million in Series D
Social game developer Digital Chocolate closed a Series D financing round totaling $12 million--Intel Capital led the round, bolstered by contributions from existing investors Sutter Hill Ventures and Bridgescale Partners. Alongside more than 100 million mobile downloads spanning platforms including iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7, Digital Chocolate has emerged as one of the premier games publishers across the Facebook network; in all, the firm boasts partnerships with 200 web and mobile channel partners in 80 countries, with signature titles including Millionaire City, MMA Pro Fighter, Rollercoaster Rush and Tower Bloxx.
Digital Chocolate stated the latest round of growth capital will support its plans to expand its scale, cross-platform capabilities and geographic reach. The company has now raised $55.8 million in total venture financing since launching in December 2003.
