DISH Network debuts TV Everywhere solution

Satellite television services provider DISH Network announced the introduction of TV Everywhere, a suite of integrated products developed to deliver programming to mobile devices and laptops, as well as a related mobile application optimized for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch. According to DISH, the TV Everywhere suite includes the TV Everywhere Adapter, developed in association with EchoStar Technologies' Sling Media affiliate--the ultra-slim device connects to compatible set-top boxes to enable DISH customers to watch programs on mobile handsets and related portable devices. The suite also includes the DuoDVRTM ViP 922 with TV Everywhere, a DVR with built-in Slingbox placeshifting technology, as well as the DISH Network WiFi Monitor, which can wirelessly transmit an HD video signal from a set-top box to anywhere in the subscriber's home.

As for the new DISH Network Remote Access Mobile App, the free software--available for download now via the App Store--is a remote scheduling tool compatible with most SD and HD DISH DVR receivers. Users can set and delete timers on multiple receivers, browse and search nine days of programs, and manage recording priorities by resolving recording conflicts and deleting programs already watched. The app also promises to transform an iPhone or iPod touch into a remote control for televisions connected to compatible DISH receivers.
