Disney Channel launching streaming video app next month

Walt Disney Co. CEO Robert Iger said the Disney Channel will launch a streaming video application for mobile devices as early as next week. The app will follow the template established by Disney-owned sports media giant ESPN's popular WatchESPN app, which enables cable subscribers to view live networking programming on smartphones and tablets.
