Disney signs on with Softbank for Japanese MVNO

Tools

If at first you don't succeed: Weeks after announcing its pending exit from the U.S. MVNO market, The Walt Disney Co. said it will team with Japanese operator Softbank to launch a branded mobile service in the spring of 2008. The Japanese MVNO will feature Disney-branded handsets and animated content, with devices and services sold via Softbank stores--Softbank will also cover billing, customer service and related back-end requirements. Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
