DoCoMo announces motion-sensing mobile gaming
Japanese mobile operator NTT DoCoMo announced its new series of 3G FOMA 904i handsets will arrive embedded with motion sensors enabling a kinetic gaming interface. "Games are played using intuitive motion, such as tracing a finger, tilting or waving the handset," said DoCoMo in a statement. "Game content will determine the type of intuitive motion used during play." Initial titles announced by DoCoMo include a boxing game and a maze-like challenge. The handsets in question will hit Japanese retail in May or June; the motion sensors are manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric.
