EA inks mobile gaming deal with Eidos Interactive
Interactive entertainment software firm Electronic Arts announced an agreement with videogame properties creator Eidos Interactive to secure exclusive multi-regional mobile distribution and licensing rights to selected Eidos titles. Per terms of the deal, Electronic Arts' EA Mobile unit gains all existing mobile channel and device rights to four of Eidos' premier titles--Tomb Raider Underworld, Just Cause 2, California Games X and Minesweeper--with a future option on mobile incarnations of the majority of Eidos videogame properties for a period of three years. The Tomb Raider franchise alone is responsible for worldwide game sales in excess of 35 million as well as two full-length feature films.
