EMI, T-Mobile Germany partner for mobile ads
We fully expect mobile ads to be the talk of L.A. this week, but it looks like the trend is still the buzz across the pond too: British record company EMI and Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile U.K. have begun trialing an ad-supported music video service. Selected T-Mobile UK subscribers can access free music videos with embedded, targeted, TV-style ads. Coca Cola Zero, General Motors and Nike are among the first advertisers for the service. TV-style ads might sound like a weak attempt considering the interactive functionality of the mobile phone, but we're still taking baby steps--even in Europe, evidently.
