EMI, Vodafone finalize mobile content deal
Finally, we can stop hearing about Robbie Williams--hopefully. EMI has finalized its mobile content deal with the Vodafone Group, so Vodafone carriers across Europe, Africa and the Middle East now have access to EMI's massive catalog. About 200,000 tracks are included in the deal for licensing, like hits from, yes, Robbie Williams, Coldplay and Gorillaz.
EMI has been working with T-Mobile and SonyEricsson on a promotional initiative for Robbie Williams that includes unreleased video footage of live performances, backstage interludes and behind-the-scenes clips. The trio is also planning on streaming live mobile video from four concerts over the next two months.
