Ericsson acquires SinglePoint's mobile messaging assets

Tools

Ericsson announced an agreement to acquire SinglePoint's mobile messaging aggregation contract assets, a move that vaults Ericsson to Common Short Code Administration Tier 1 aggregator status in the U.S. Financial terms were not disclosed. Per terms of the deal, the vendor giant will assume ownership of SinglePoint's operator connection agreements, a move it says will bolster its premium and standard rate messaging reach as well as enhance its Multimedia Brokering suite of services.

According to SinglePoint president and CEO Gowri Shankar, the company will now shift its focus to its mobile advertising platform, which it says connects brands, agencies and publishers to more than 270 million subscribers across North America.
