Evite launches cross-platform messaging service

Digital social event planning service Evite announced the launch of QuickVite, a free, cross-platform mobile/web application enabling users to organize informal outings via both e-mail and text message. According to Evite, QuickVite (developed in conjunction with mobile marketing service provider Air2Web) makes it easier to coordinate activities with friends by connecting wherever they are, without need for multiple messages. QuickVite recipients may respond via email, text message or at Evite.com, with responses collected in one location for everyone in the group to view. QuickVite follows on the heels of Evite's "Send-to-Phone" mobile alert service, which launched in September.
