Ex-Glu head Ballard named Transpera CEO

Tools

Mobile video advertising solutions provider Transpera announced the appointment of Greg Ballard as CEO, with current Transpera CEO Frank Barbieri now assuming the title of Chief Product Officer. Ballard previously served six years as president and CEO of mobile gaming firm Glu Mobile, leading the company to a 2007 IPO--his résumé also includes stints as CEO and COO for Warner Custom Music as well as president of Capcom Entertainment. Fellow Glu alum Alex Galvagni will follow Ballard to Transpera, signing on as COO.

Transpera's mobile video ad network serves publisher partners including CBS News, Discovery Communications, MTV Networks and Showtime. Last week, the company announced the completion of a Series C financing round totaling $9 million.
