Ex-Sony Music head Ienner launches IMHO social media player
Social media services firm IMO Entertainment announced the launch of IMHO, a cloud-based content player solution enabling
users to share licensed video, music and games across a host of mobile and online platforms. According to IMO--headed by onetime Sony Music Label Group and Columbia Records chairman and CEO Don Ienner--IMHO is a website-embeddable content player that integrates with the company's proprietary DashBid advertising system to supply both custom and turnkey solutions for marketers seeking to reach consumers via social networks and premium content. IMHO features tools to communicate with friends, make content recommendations, share experiences and purchase media; it also offers advertising-subsidized downloads.
IMO partners include digital music and entertainment distributor The Orchard for premium full-track content, digital music service provider Melodeo for radio, digital entertainment services firm RealNetworks for games and digital movie downloads provider Film Fresh for major studio features. IMHO will target Facebook users during its alpha launch, with an open beta scheduled later this spring.
