Facebook, Google teaming for Android app
Web services giant Google and social networking kingpin Facebook have reportedly put their rivalry on hold long enough to collaborate on a new Facebook application for the Android mobile operating system. TechCrunch reports that Google even loaned Facebook an Android engineer to build the application, which will debut with a more limited set of features than Facebook's iPhone app--while it won't offer an inbox, it will boast the full Facebook stream and status updates.
Facebook is also said to be finetuning a revamped version of its popular iPhone application. New features are slated to include an improved News Feed, a homescreen enabling more efficient access to services and expanded photo functionality.
