FLO TV, Rentrak team for mobile viewing metrics

Qualcomm's FLO TV mobile broadcast subsidiary announced an agreement with multi-screen media measurement and research firm Rentrak to launch viewership and advertising impression reporting services targeting the mobile television industry. According to FLO TV, the metrics service--based on Rentrak's TV Essentials media measurement system--will deliver data on mobile TV audience viewing patterns without divulging personal information on individual subscribe, providing ongoing reports to content providers and advertisers to assist them in their programming and media buying decisions. FLO TV and Rentrak add they are currently in the integration phase, but plan to begin sharing impression data with programming partners later this year.
