Flycell, Island Def Jam team for IDJ Mobile

Mobile and online media company Flycell announced an exclusive agreement with Island Def Jam Music Group to create IDJ Mobile, a label-centric mobile subscription service promising fans exclusive online and mobile content including ringtones, graphics, games and messaging services alongside label news, artist mobile blogs and sweepstakes. Island Def Jam will supply exclusive artist content and ongoing marketing and promotional support both online and off, tapping hip-hop superstar Kanye West as IDJ Mobile's flagship act. Flycell will power mobile billing and content delivery, as well as promote the service by leveraging and expanding Island Def Jam's existing digital presence. "Our partnership with Island Def Jam represents an evolution from the traditional off-deck service and brings fans closer to the music and artists they love," said Flycell CEO Alberto Montesi in a prepared statement.
