Forecast: Dual-mode handsets to top 300M by 2011

According to analyst group ABI Research, dual-mode cellular/WiFi mobile phones will ship to the tune of 300 million by 2011. Remember, dual-mode handsets don't just mean wireless VoIP. Content owners like music labels are very interested in using WiFi to deliver direct-to-consumer content to mobile devices as well. However, it's the standards for VoIP that will make the rollout of these dual-mode handsets all the more complicated.
