Foursquare updates iOS and Android app

Tools

Location-based mobile social network foursquare has updated the Explore tab on its iOS and Android app to make it easier for users to navigate and search for restaurant locations and tap into the expertise of their friends to find popular places.

For example, the Explore tab allows users to quickly access top restaurant picks and popular locations and to search beyond their current location. It also has an option that allows you to filter results to just pick the places that your friends have been.

The foursquare iOS and Android app also includes restaurant menu and pricing information-details that foursquare added to its web site a few weeks ago through a collaboration with solutions startup SinglePlatform. The two companies integrated data on more than 13 million menu items available across close to 250,000 U.S. restaurants.
