FusionOne inks content portability deals

Tools

Mobile phone backup and migration services provider FusionOne announced partnerships with four new mobile content providers: Games publisher GOSUB 60, mobile music and video solutions firm mSpot, personalized weather intelligence provider Digital Cyclone and user interface solutions developer UI Magic. All four companies will join FusionOne's Content Developers Network, which certifies licensed content from members is compatible with the company's Handset Transfer Solution. According to FusionOne, its solutions enable mobile subscribers to seamlessly move licensed content from Content Developer Network partners from one mobile device to another, meaning consumers must no longer remember, repurchase and re-download applications from their previous handset. The announcements follow on the heels of similar FusionOne deals with mobile gaming firms Gameloft and Glu Mobile--FusionOne has partnered with more than 50 content providers to date.
