Game on for IGN V Cast channel
Videogame services and information provider IGN Entertainment became the latest property to sign a mobile video agreement with Verizon Wireless, announcing the launch of a gaming, entertainment and lifestyle channel available via the carrier's V Cast service. Derived in large part from video content produced for the IGN website, the IGN Mobile Video channel will feature a series of brief segments spotlighting new games, movie trailers and celebrity interviews, highlighted by the regular series "IGN Weekly," which features the latest in gaming and show business news and analysis.
A unit of Fox Interactive Media, IGN Entertainment currently produces more than four hours of gaming, entertainment and lifestyle video content each week, serving more than 15 million visitors per month. IGN also owns and operates the film review website Rotten Tomatoes and the male lifestyle website AskMen.com. "This agreement with Verizon Wireless is another great step in extending the reach of FIM's leading web content to users on every possible platform," Fox Interactive Media senior VP and GM of mobile John Smelzer said in a prepared statement.
