Gameloft inks mobile deal with Marvel Entertainment

Tools

Gaming developer and publisher Gameloft announced an exclusive multi-year, multi-product mobile game licensing agreement with Marvel Entertainment to create titles based on legendary comics franchises including The Amazing Spider-Man, which will swing onto handsets in 2009. In addition, Gameloft will develop mobile games tied to Marvel's feature film franchises: In 2010, the firm will launch a title based on Iron Man 2, the forthcoming sequel to this summer's Robert Downey Jr.-headlined blockbuster, which raked in worldwide box office revenues of $570 million. (The bylaws of the comics nerd code mandate that I also propose a mobile game based on the '70s-era Marvel series Giant-Size Man-Thing.)
