GetJar scores $11 million in Series B financing
Cross-platform applications storefront GetJar announced the close of an $11 million Series B financing round led by Accel Partners. The round follows two weeks after GetJar app downloads surpassed the 1 billion milestone. GetJar said the new funding will support further development of its GetJar.com and m.getjar.com sites as well as customer solutions including Pay-Per-Download, App Download Page and App Catalogue Express.
GetJar now offers more than 65,000 applications spanning operating systems including Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Symbian. The store serves smartphone and feature phone users in over 200 countries. According to GetJar, the number of apps downloaded from the store each month has quadrupled over the past year.
