Global mobile TV adoption facing 46% CAGR thru 2013
Mobile TV adoption is poised to experience a compound annual growth rate of 46 percent between 2009 and 2013, increasing from current totals of around 100 million subscribers worldwide to 450 million in four years' time, according to a forecast issued by market research firm RNCOS. The study anticipates Japan and South Korea, which accounted for about half of the reported 70 million global mobile TV subscribers in 2008, will continue to lead the charge, but significant growth also is expected in other Asia-Pacific markets including India and China. Ongoing developments in Europe and the Americas will also boost mobile TV adoption over the forecast period.
